Kick-off meeting 31th August - 1st September 2017

At the turn of the months August - September, in the coastal city of Oulu and inland city of Nivala in Finland were stages for the kick-off meeting of the H-CHP project - annoyingly, just before when the landscape is ablaze with the colours of autumn.

For two days the partners were engaged in deep conversations about the content of the project, concrete action plans and how to reach the goals set for the project.

At the end of the second day, partners were invited to Volter Oy, which is one of the major combined heat and power plant manufacturer (CHP) in Finland. Their CHP solution uses wood chips for producing 50kW of electricity and 100 kW of heat. And, to Oulun Energia's Laanila ecopower plant processes non-recyclable waste into steam and heat. The plant uses approximately 140,000 tonnes of municipal and industrial waste sorted at origin per year.
